I love the look of the art batts! Yummy. But I’m such a new spinner (hand spindles) that I haven’t the faintest idea how one spins from a batt. Can you enlighten us?
That is exactly how I started and you can definitely spin batts on spindle. You just rip off a manageable strip and spin it it drafting like you would a roving. In reality all roving is an batt that has been drafted out. If you’ve only spun top before it’s a way different animal top is combed so all the fibers are parallel and it’s really slippery to spin compared to roving.
